Sven to be sacked by City
A number of newspapers and TV stations are reporting that Sven Goran Eriksson will be sacked at the end of the season as Dr Thaksin Sinawatra looks to take greater control over the club. Eriksson has breathed new life into a side that had lost all confidence and direction under Kevin Keegan and Stuart Pearce, turning Eastlands into a fortress and giving them their highest ever Premiership points total. What has been most impressive is the change in play under Sven, a quick one touch passing system and pacy counter attacking style has been adopted by a side that only scored 10 goals at home last season. In the transfer market the signings of Elano and Petrov will be invaluable assets to the next manager and academy graduates Etuhu and Sturridge have gained valuable experience this season. Sven’s right hand man believes it won’t be long before Sven receives new offers if he is sacked:
“We are left with the two games. They probably think we’ve done a poor job. Sven will get new offers, I’m convinced about it. But nothing is happening before the season is over.”
