Ronaldinho makes Milan move
Former world player of the year Ronaldinho has completed his move to Italian side AC Milan, a deal which is set to spark a flurry of transfer activity around Europe. Milan who finished 5th in Serie A last season beat Manchester City to the signing of the mercurial Brazilian talent after the player rescinded his right to 15% of the transfer fee meaning the Milanistas offer of £15m plus £5m in add ons was effectivelt equal to the £21m Barcelona would’ve have pocketed from City’s £25m offer. The next problem Milan will have is finding a balanced formation that can accomodate both Kaka and Ronaldinho, a feat which has so far eluded the Brazilian national side. Milans move for Ronaldinho also signals the end of their interest in Arsenal’s Emmanuel Adebayor as the clubs UEFA cup status means funds are tight as Andrea Galliani confirmed today:
“The market for Milan is closed with the arrival of Ronaldinho. As far as arrivals are concerned, we are finished, absolutely.”
Ronaldinho’s departure may mean Adebayor is staying a gunner but it also means another gunner is set to leave north London for Catalunya as Aleksander Hleb today jetted into Barcelona for a medical before sealing a £15m move to La Liga.
