The only Premiership team left in the FA Cup showed their class this afternoon and beat promotion hopefuls West Bromich Albion 1-0 to book a place in the final. Ex-West Brom striker Kanu put one past his old team to send Pompey through. Portsmouth now are hot favourites to lift the trophy on 17th May 2008 with their odds slashed to 1/3. They have to wait until tomorrow’s match between giant-killers Barnsley and Cardiff to see who will join them.

As expected Wembley wasn’t full (we wrote about it here). While Pompey filled out their allocation and West Brom made a good effort, the pricey Club Wembley seating was conspiciously empty.
