New Birmingham City away kit 08/09
May 5th, 2008 • Related • Filed Under

The new Birmingham away kit has been revealed and it has an interesting thick red stripe on the front in keeping with the current home strip which has a white stripe down the middle. Reminiscent of the Ajax kit it will go on sale at St Andrews on May 11th the final day of the season as Birmingham entertain Blackburn Rovers and aim to maintain their Premiership status.

HAHA YEAH IT LOOKS REALLY MIGHTY AND BLUE?? NOT! Copying and its red and white.. try to find ur own jersey!!! wtf guys, this is ridicolous, F… umbro and Birmingham…
but indeed the shirt looks kinda lousy… Adidas does he much better job for us AJAX guys!!
be proud!!
Comment by Steve on 7 May 2008:
Anyone with half a brain cell can work out that we haven’t copied Ajax but simply took our current home shirt, inverted it and changed blue to red. Red is a logical colour because it’s completely different to blue.
Yes it looks like the Ajax kit… not it wasn’t done deliberately.
Comment by Blue Nose on 7 May 2008:
Your bang on Steve, obviously this is similar to OUR own shirts and similar to the style going back to the 70s shirts. Obviously Ajax supporters dont have more than half a brain cell, and I suspect some of the comments on here are from those with half a brain cell from the claret and blue side of Birmingham.

Comment by Hawk on 11 May 2008:
Ajax originally played in an all black uniform with a red sash tied around the players’ waists, but that uniform was soon replaced by a red/white striped shirt and black shorts. Red, black and white are the three colors of the flag of Amsterdam. However, when, under manager Jack Kirwan, the club got promoted to the top flight of Dutch football for the first time in 1911 (then the Eerste Klasse or ‘First Class’, later named the Eredivisie), Ajax were forced to change their colors because Sparta Rotterdam already had the exact same outfit. Special kits for away fixtures did not exist at the time and according to football association regulations the newcomers had to change their colors if two teams in the same league had identical uniforms. Ajax opted for white shorts and white shirt with a broad, vertical red stripe over chest and back, which still is Ajax’s outfit.
Comment by Bluenose on 11 May 2008:
it’s a kit. we have it because we have a famous blue and white penquin kit. this year our two away kist where red and white so they have decided to combine the two of them into a penquin style kit.
stupid…. next you will be having a go at blackpool for wearing your national team colour
go smoke some pot =D

funny that some relagation candidates are acting really tough against a club that has a big history and will probably will smash your birmingham with at least 5-0. try not to get slaughterd by aston villa before you getting tough to top 50 clubs in europe

Comment by ERFC-FAN on 12 May 2008:
Was Getekend,
Een fan die het shirt moiie vind

Why the hell are the cloggy’s getting so uptight? It’s a shirt manufactured by UMBRO, and not Birmingham City FC.
The one thing I did notice was the lack of a yellow stripe down the back of the shirt which is well associated with the city of Amsterdam, unlike the city of Rotterdam who helped fight the Germans.
Get a life or just confine yourselves to your windmills complete with mice whilst we English service your girls on holiday’s in the UK (and Spain)as you weirdo’s aren’t fit to fuck them properly.

What ever u dutch twats, the only reason you win trophy’s in holland is because your leagues are shite,if you was to play in the prem. or even the championship you’d b turned over week in week out. so stop bitchin about the bloody kit, its our away kit like our home just dif colours. u fucks are so small minded, ajax are othing like they used to be they haven’t been close to the champions league in ages, and the kit colours are from ARSENAL where u stole them because u couldn’t afford new kits after the ww2.
as bluenoses we havent got to explain ourselves to the likes of these half witted incest fuckers..

Been Ajax fan for over 20 years, reading this makes me laugh a little bit!
Fact is that we got the original and most beautiful kit ( despite of the ugly new logo), don’t understand the complaining of my fellow Ajax mates, because the Birmingham fans can’t do nothing about this!!
It will be funny when Ajax meet Birminham for perhaps a friendly!
It will all be red and white hahaha!
Grappig om zelfs hier kakkerlakken te treffen, hebben jullie geen leven ofzo, en over dat wegrennen: ik woon al 32 jaar in regio 010 en heb nog nooit hoeven rennen, stelletje kneuzeñ!

Comment by Gmalb on 27 May 2008:
Hey Ajax-fans!
Translation for the not-so-multilingual friends on the islands: hi Ajax fans! Let’s allow those poor folks in Birmingham to enjoy such a great design - they are not (ever) going to play in Europe, which is logical with such a squad. So no risk of confusion…
A big club would never do such a thing, let’s ignore these losers.
