Rangers 0-2 Zenit St Petersburg

The UEFA cup final finished in dissapointment for Rangers as they were unable to outwit a patient Zenit side. The deadlock was broken in the 73rd minute by Igor Denisov and after that it was always going to be difficult for Rangers to break down a Zenit team who destroyed Bayern Munich 4-0 on the counter attack in the semi final. The killer blow came with the last touch of the the game as Arshavin again disected the Rangers back line for Konstatin Zyryanov to calmly finish from close range and silence the large contingent of Glaswegians in the City of Manchester Stadium.
