John Madejski is the mutli-millionaire owner and chairman of Reading football club and is said to have amassed a personal fortune of over £400m and is key financial contributor to the Conservative party.

Madejski bought the club in 1990 after the death of Robert Maxwell and has invested in the clubs infrastructure rather than in its playing staff. He has overseen the building of a new stadium at a personal cost of £25m, which along with numerous other projects he’s involved with in the Berkshire area is named after him. It has been reported recently that Madejski is aiming to sell the club for a healthy profit after making comments like:

‘The brand is getting stronger all the time and if there is a billionaire who wants a nice accessory down the M4 then come and talk to me… billionaires only. Millionaires need not apply.’
