Has Hleb played last game for Arsenal?

Hleb head

Aleksandr Hleb’s season may be over and his Arsenal future is in doubt amidst growing specualtion in Italy that he is set to sign for Inter. Hleb was caught on camera slapping Reading captain Graeme Murty in the face in an unprovoked off the ball incident. Although the slap in the face was quite blatant it was missed by match officials who were asked by Murty to red card the Belarusian as he gestured that he had been punched in the smacker. The FA may still slap a 3 match ban on Hleb ruling him out of the rest of the season:

“The first thing is to wait and see the referee’s report but that is not necessarily the end of the matter.”

If Hleb is part of an Emirates exodus he might of already played his last game for he club if the FA enforce a violent conduct ban but Arsene Wenger is confident of keeping his only genuine winger:

“I believe Alex will stay but you cannot stop the rumours when players are in this type of situation, but I want Hleb to stay like everybody else.”

We brought you a story earlier in the year of Hlebs ‘Ice Cream date’ with an Italian agent who fixes up many of Inter Milans transfer deals and which was rumoured to have even involved a trip to Inter Milans facilities on the eve of Arsenal’s crunch tie with AC Milan. Read that story here
