Arsenal’s Mathieu Flamini has flown to Milan to undergo a medical this morning before signing for the Rossoneri on a 4 year deal. The move was confirmed by AC Milans transfer supremo Andrea Galliani who spoke out after Milan’s derby victory over title favourites Inter Milan which moved them into the Champions league places in Serie A:

“Flamini will arrive tonight in Milan and If he passes the medical on Monday morning, he will be a Milan player. He will sign a four-year contract.”

Flamini had been expected to return from his ankle injury in Arsenal’s last home game of the season against Everton yesterday but was left out of the Arsenal squad and possibly deprived of saying farewell to Emirates faithful. Flamini has often been compared by his teammates to Reno Gattuso of Milan but will now get the chance to prove if he is as good as the Italian anchor man when he lines up for AC next season.
