Steve Gibson is the self made millionaire chairman of Middlesbrough Football club.
Gibson rose to prominence as the youngest labour councillor in history at the age of 21 and by the age of 23 had set up his haulage firm which would later make him a millionaire with just £1000 loaned from his father. In 1984 he was approached by his hometown club who asked him to invest in advertising hoardings around the ground and yet again Gibson did not let his age get in the away of his rise to power taking a role on Middlesbrough board by the age of 26. Just two years later Gibson would help save the club from liquidation as part of a consortium and became the chairman in 1994 now owning over 90% of the club. Under his tenure as chairman Middlesbrough have been in and out of the premiership, moved to a new all seater stadium, signed and sold high profile internationals like Juninho and Ravanelli, and reached 3 cup finals eventually winning their 1st trophy in their 128 year history in the 2004 Carling cup final win over Bolton.
